Lisa and Heather just bought a house in Northeast which made it the perfect time to document them in their first home together before moving out. This session was unique and personal being that Tony and I have a lot of memories here as well. They were some of the first friends we made when we first moved to Minneapolis, five years ago. I’m pretty sure the first time we ever really hung out was to help them move into this very space. So crazy to think we hardly knew each other then. Since, there have been countless cozy winter nights, stoop hangs, birthday celebrations and pride brunches. Memories packed to the brim. It’s been a welcome space but I think that has more to do with the people then the space itself.
During the session they made a delicious cake, did a crossword, pieced through some of their favorite books in their massive collection, and ended things with a beer on the stoop. It was perfect and just so them. It’s certainly a bittersweet goodbye and this session reminds me why I love documenting families in their spaces so much. We’re stoked to watch them grow in their new home and begin the next chapter.
Cheers to y’all!
